Everything on my laptop with Windows 8 and a solid state drive is lightning fast, except ECCO when it is syncing through the network to the master file. Has anyone else had this problem and did you find a fix? No view in all versions or of what you are used to see will change. Everything will function the way of your current version. If you need to, there is an easy way to add the ecco extension later. Your old setup.exe will not work. (Windows7 Professional, 32-bit on a Dell desktop computer, and 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop computer.) When I go to http://www.compusol.org/ecco/ I see that I can pay a reasonable membership fee and just download a new version of Ecco Pro, designed for Windows seven. It is “much improved” with all sorts of additional features. *“Compared to the Standard Installer Version 4.0.1.363 you will find a vast improved Information Manager which brings together your contacts, calendar, appointments, tasks and projects in one integrated application.” * What I want is something that will function the way my current version 4.01 functions. Basically, I need the notepads and columns, the ability to sort and filter. I need something that will open the many .eco files I have already created, that have so much data stored in them. When I look at the graphic, it seems that the new Ecco has many windows for different functions. Will I be able to get rid of those windows and go back to the look I’m used to? I realize there may be some new features that would benefit me, but my top priority now is to get myself functional on the new computer ... I can’t spare the time to learn any new features. I still have the Setup32.exe file dated 05/08/2004 6,721,202 bytes. It looks like I have three choices: I could learn how to install setup32.exe under Windows 7, OR I could download EccoPro from Compusol, OR I could download “the tested and stable EccoProX Installation” from Compusol. I am hoping someone can advise me the simplest, most reliable way to get my current eco files readable and usable on a Windows 7 computer. If I download EccoProX, is there a way to make it look and feel like my current version of Ecco Pro? Will it read my current files? Many thanks!
