This is a response to a private request on info re: limitations of sync
for ecco and dealt with it publicly under the subject "Sync app
limitations -- don't blame ecco !!"

Over the last year we heard from three developers with interest to
create an EccoPro to Android synchronization solution. Mobisynapse
requested the Ecco source code and we send them the DDE material
available. At the end they bailed out like CompanionLink. CompanionLink
asked for $40,000.00 to create a special Android Software mirroring the
Ecco data structure. The fundraiser was only able to raise a quarter of
that.

To keep the development costs for the small Ecco Community affordable,
FJsoft uses native Android Applications like with their other sync
solutions for Outlook, Google, Thunderbird and Windows Contacts. In
general, those native Android applications are not designed with Ecco's
sub-item structure in mind. Also, MyPhoneExplorer differs from other
solutions like CompanionLink's in that Ecco users are able to mix and
match their synchronization without separate charges for Outlook,
Google, Thunderbird, etc.

MyPhoneExplorer syncs Ecco's Phonebook with Android's contact List
"People", Ecco's Calendar with Android's Calendar, Ticklers or ToDo
items are stored in MPE Tasks and on the Desktop inside the Calendar
like in Ecco. Memos or Notes are stored in MPE Notes. There are
countless options to set Alarms/Reminders for any Calendar event. Any
recurring events like Birthdays are supported. The top-first or most
current sub-item will be displayed in "People" and in "Contacts" on the
MyPhoneExplorer Desktop. Even the former Palm Desktop had a 5K memory
limitation on sub-items.

A nice feature added is the ability to archive, store and send phone
messages from the desktop. The built-in file manager will give an
overview of all the files on the device and on the SD card. A click of a
mouse will transfer all photos to the desktop or move entire folders
from the memory as well as upload new files to the phone. The Memory
status informs how much internal memory and SD card memory is left and
the Monitor displays temperature, voltage, battery status and details of
the device like CPU use, signal quality, model, firmware and the phone
provider.

Rushang Shah, Marketing Director of CompanionLink wrote us: "Friedhelm,
congratulations on shipping mobile sync! I'm happy for the EccoPro users
who have been waiting for this. I'm sure they are proud to have this.
Good luck with everything".
