As explained in detail at http://creativeservices.us/MPENotes.html just
create new folders under Call Status or Scheduling with names of your
liking. Being old fashioned I just used the old names still in my main data
file since the 90s.

refer to in this email.  I'm currently using the EccoProX64 version and the
Palm Pilot folder you refer to are not in the available on my version.  Can
I just create these folders or are they program files that must be installed
and if so where do I acquire them.  I know I had them on my original 4.01
version when I was on a 32 bit platform.

To support the EccoPro community over the last 17 years, we were always
faced with adjusting our beloved software to new operating systems and with
changes to all kind of handheld devices, necessary to take our information
on the road. It started with the original Palm Pilot when Palm continued
with webOS and the Palm Pre.

With the appearance of iPhones and Androids, HP, which just had purchased
Palm decided to curtail webOS developers and the Palm Pre ended up in the
junkyard of recyclers. HP's webOS began with a fanfare but folded. The
convenience of carrying our Ecco data was lost until last year when we with
the help of our members published the Ecco Edition of MyPhoneExplorer.

Without the Ecco Source Code the development was not an easy task. An Ecco
type application for Android or the iPhone was! out of the question. We were
guided by the original Ecco synchronization of the Palm Desktop which sadly
had built-in limitations by displaying only a limited amount of Ecco
Subitems on Palm Devices.

We knew native Android applications are not designed with Ecco's Subitem
structure in mind. Ecco's most favorite feature "Outlining" could not be
displayed. We had to stick with the original four Palm Synchronization
Modules Phonebook (Contacts), Calendar, Tasks and Memos (Notes). To get more
use of Memos or Notes I will show you here how to overcome TLI (Top Level
Item) and Subitem limitations.

Open the Ecco "Folder Window". The original Palm Synchronization created
three new folders under "New Columns", "Pilot Archive" (Folder Type:
CheckMark), "Pilot No Notes" (Folder Type: CheckMark) and "Pilot Memos"
(Folder Type: Pop-Up List). Let us change the name of the "Call Status"
Folder (Folder Type: CheckMark, Picture 3) to "Action" and move/create three
new folders with the names above and the same properties as Sub folders into
the "Action" folder (see Picture 4).

In my example I changed the original "date" folders under "Action" -> "Call
Back", "Left Msg" and "Last Call" to "Calls", "Re-call", "Reminders" and
"Follow-ups". If you have not done so, I prefer the Tickler section on top,
click Calendar -> Show Tickler Section on Top. If Columns don't show click
on Column -> Show Columns.

Now click on Column -> Insert Column -> "Existing Column or Folder" and
scroll down to click the "Action" folder (see Picture 5). Right-click the
"Action" Column header -> Properties and choose "For each Item, cell
displays: Sub Folders of "Action" that contain Item". In the Folder Window
right-click "Pilot Memos" -> Properties and add "Pop-up values&qu! ot; like
Business, Personal, Private or any of your choice. In MyPhoneExplorer on
your Desktop click on File -> Settings -> Sync -> Notes (Sync with "Ecco")
-> Advanced and under your Ecco Database choose the Folder "Pilot Memos"
(see Picture 6).

Your Android ph! one's client of MyPhoneExplorer  offers you two beautiful
Widgets, MPE Tasks and MPE Notes (see Picture 1). If you click the "Action"
column next to any entry in Ecco's Calendar or in any Notepad and choose
"Pilot Memos" (plus a choice of Pop-Up Value) you have a simple way to move
TLIs and Subitems to your Android device. If used the next MyPhoneExplorer
synchronization will transfer an unlimited amount of your TLIs and Subitems
to MPE Notes. Tap the MPE Notes Widget and it will show you all Notes with
the latest Note on top (see Picture 2).

You might also add the column "Pilot Memos" to the folder "Pilot Memos" (see
Picture 7). It will show all your Pop-Up Values related to separate entries
(see picture 7). Additionally, you might sort the column "Pilot Memos" to
accommodate different projects.

Here is a Calendar view with the "Action" column at the right and the Folder
Window to the left (Picture 8). To bypass the synchronization to your
Android device you might archive your Pilot Memos by just clicking "Pilot
Archive" in the "Action" column related to your Calendar entry. Do not
forget to adjust your MyPhoneExplorer sync accordingly, don't use "Sync
both" choose "Force Ecco -> phone" or the Android item will be synced back
to Ecco's folder "Pilot Memos".
