I doubt it worked before with assigning birthdays to subitems so
they would show up not only as Ticklers but also in a Calendar
view. We had the same problem and decided 14 years ago to use no
multilevel subitems but only TLIs in a separate Birthday folder.
If you assign column values only
to TLIs, and
not to subitems, you will avoid a substantial amount of
additional complexity in
your file.
In your case subitems have only "Context Parents" which
appear in your folder in a light green color,
they’re there to show only the
context of subitems and will prevent the inclusion into calendar
views. It does not prevent the separate assignment to Ticklers.

because (a) I need to add the year which would be a
problem in a TLI (eg, printing address lists and
envelopes), and (b) I often (as with Arch Graham) have
several subitem Birthdays under one TLI.
But that's progress of a sort -- I'll keep playing and
see what happens.

importantly, how to get it into the Calendar

Friedhelm -- when I click on the Birthday date
for Colin GRACE, I set the recurring date and
Tickler view (I don't use Alarms in this
context) but still get nothing in the Calendar
view.
The annoying thing is that this worked when I
first set it up years ago ... so why not now?

All Birthdays show up in the Ecco Calendar on

Nov". I can't for the life of me figure
out how to get newly added birthday
subitems in the PhoneBook to appear in

very simple answer.
Second -- I have a Work Plan Notepad
where one of the columns is Start Date.
When I have no filter applied to the
PhoneBook view, all items from the Work
Plan appear in the Ticklers section of
the PhoneBook under the heading Start
Dates. But when I apply a simple filter
to show only recent Start Dates, all
other data in the PhoneBook view (ie,
other Ticklers and all Appointments)
disappear. What am I missing?
