From the manual:

Shooter Compatibility

The Shooter automatically recognizes most Windows applications. If the Shooter does

not work with an application, you may need to modify the Windows Registry

(ECCO.INI for the ECCO 16-bit version).

Shooter codes are used to store application-specific instructions for the Shooter.

The codes are actually a composite of two sets of two digit numbers. Each of the sets can

be any value between 0 and 10. The first set of a Shooter code is the code for the copy

method that the Shooter should use to copy from the application. The second set is the

code for how to attempt to paste into the application.

By combining a set from the Copy codes with a set from the Paste codes, you can

customize the Shooter’s actions for different situations on different machines.

Copy method codes

Command Code Action

TRYALL 00 Try all methods

EDITMENU 01 Use Edit/Copy

CONTROLC 02 Use CTRL+C

CONTROLINS 03 Use CTRL+INS

NONE 04 Don’t attempt to copy

EDITCONTROL 05 Edit Control

DOSBOX 06 DOS application

WINFILE 07 File Manager (16-bit only)

WINMESSAGE 08 NetManage Z-Mail Pro—Use

“EccoShooterCopy”

NETSCAPE_DDE 09 Try CTRL+C first, then Netscape DDE

Paste method codes

Command Code Action

TRYALL 00 Try all—default method

EDITMENU 01 Use Edit/Paste

CONTROLV 02 Use CTRL+V

SHIFTINS 03 Use SHIFT+INS

NONE 04 Don’t attempt to paste

WINMESSAGE 05 NetManage Z-Mail Pro—Use

“EccoShooterQueryPaste” and

“EccoShooterPaste”

NETSCAPE_DDE 06 Use Netscape DDE method

WINMESSAGE2 07 NetManage Z-Mail Pro—Same as

WINMESSAGE, but does not use

Query.

As an example, Microsoft Word 6.0 uses the Edit/Copy and Edit/Paste methods. The

Shooter codes would be 02 for the copy method, and 02 for the paste method. Putting the

two sets together results as 0202.

For clarity, the leading zero from the Copy method can be dropped, leaving 202. The

leading zero must be retained on the Paste method, as a place holder. Your final code

entry would look like WINWORD.EXE=202.

Entering Shooter Codes—Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0

1. From the Start button on the Windows taskbar, choose Run.

2. Type REGEDIT, then choose OK.

3. Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder.

4. Expand the Software folder.

5. Expand the NetManage folder.

6. Expand the ECCO folder.

7. Open the ECCO folder.

8. From the Edit menu, select New, then String Value.

9. Type the name of the application’s executable file (i.e. GOCIS.EXE).

10. Double click on the String name

The Edit String dialog box appears.

11. In the Value Data textbox, enter the appropriate Shooter code from the previous

tables.

12. Choose OK.

13. From the Registry menu, choose Exit.

Have I missed something?
