Ecco has something like 64000 IDs (I'm not sure if an ID is a character or an entire entry). Once that number is reached you usually receive a "cannot save out of IDs" message. Remember, the last official rev of ecco was in 1998 when memory and storage was critical for applications.

Ecco can also become corrupt and needs the repair utility run. Make a copy and delete older information. Then compress the file and run a repair. delete entries manually. Don't expect results unless you do this. A full ecco will experience problems.

Thank you for your several responses.

Steve, what is the limit on calendar items and how do I find out how

many I currently have? Looking at the Folder Window, it says 15004

Appointments. Looking at the numbers for another folder in the

Calendar, it says 4445/8885 -- the second number is the count for the

highest sub-folder, but I have no idea what the first number is. The

total for all sub-folders in that folder is just over 17500.

r634718, it happens in Day view and Week view (I've not tried it in

Month view). It happens when I try to enter items for today and for

future dates, and for multi-day appointments. Closing and reopening

Ecco does not fix the problem. I've not yet tried a File Recover, but

will do so when I've had a look at the Help file. There is no

DateTimeFormat setting in the eccoext.ini file.

Any other ideas, folks?
