They always ask me "Why EccoPro"? Why do lawyers, architects, engineers, IT professionals, writers and many other individuals and entrepreneurs in over 52 countries use EccoPro to manage their daily information and time management needs? Why do many law schools advocate EccoPro as the Outliner of choice? Enhanced with new program extensions and Android smartphone synchronization, there is nothing comparable out there. Learn More
The "Ecco Edition" of MyPhoneExplorer not only synchronizes EccoPro but also enables two-way synchronizations of Outlook, GMail, Thunderbird, Lotus Notes, Windows Contacts and the Windows Calendar between your Desktop and Android Phones and Tablets. Learn More

Basic EccoPro Outlining By Don Dwiggins
Ecco outlining is as close to WYSIWG as any Outliner I've seen. Some applications apparently use "outlining" to mean "organizing information in hierarchies", and use various kinds of presentations and operations derived from their interpretations of this. In Ecco, an outline can be created, edited, and viewed as a document in outline form. Learn More |

Adding Structure through Top Level Items By Tom Hoots
Most new users of EccoPro follow a common path: they make outlines! Because outlines are EccoPro's most obvious feature, many new users conclude that EccoPro uses an outline approach to information management, so they dive right in and make a bunch of complicated, multi-level outlines.
However, many users soon become frustrated with their outlines, because they can't do some things that they had been able to do in other PIMs, such as sorting tasks by priority. In this tutorial, I'll show you the steps you can take to avoid this kind of frustration. Learn more.

May 17, 2013 was the 20th Anniversary of the release of EccoPro. On that day in 1993 Arabesque published a Press Release signed by Delayne Giardini and Blair Bryant. Also, Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal was a big fan 20 years ago. It would be interesting to chat with him about Ecco. Cheers, Delayne". The 1993 Press Release.

Basic

EccoPro Outlining

By

Don Dwiggins

Ecco

outlining is as
close to WYSIWG as
any Outliner I've
seen. Some
applications
apparently use
"outlining" to mean
"organizing
information in
hierarchies", and
use various kinds of
presentations and
operations derived
from their
interpretations of
this. In Ecco, an
outline can be
created, edited, and
viewed as a document
in outline form. Learn

Adding

Structure through
Top Level Items

By

Tom Hoots

Most

new users of EccoPro
follow a common
path: they make
outlines! Because
outlines are
EccoPro's most
obvious feature,
many new users
conclude that
EccoPro uses an
outline approach to
information
management, so they
dive right in and
make a bunch of
complicated,
multi-level
outlines.

However,

many users soon
become frustrated
with their outlines,
because they can't
do some things that
they had been able
to do in other PIMs,
such as sorting
tasks by priority.
In this tutorial,
I'll show you the
steps you can take
to avoid this kind
of frustration.

May

17, 2013 was the
20th Anniversary of
the release of
EccoPro. On that day
in 1993 Arabesque
published a Press
Release signed by
Delayne Giardini and
Blair Bryant.
Delayne, who now
lives in Mexico,
wrote me:
"Friedhelm..., what
are you planning for
the anniversary? Do
you know Blair
Bryant? He was the
Marketing Manager at
Arabesque when we
launched Ecco. Also,
Walt Mossberg of the
Wall Street Journal
was a big fan 20
years ago. It would
be interesting to
chat with him about
Ecco. Cheers,
Delayne".The 1993 Press
Release.

it is truly a test

Let

me set the record
straight regarding
Ecco's vaunted data
model. Though I was
blessed to be part
of a very talented
team at Arabesque, I
was in fact a second
generation
developer. I arrived
after the original
team had crafted the
data model for the
first version of
Ecco.

For

me, it was an
opportunity of a
life time to work
with brilliant
developers like Ed
Sheppard, the little
known chief
architect of Ecco
and the man that
provided technical
brilliance behind
version 2. Other
original team
members included
Ravi Pandya, Charles
"String of Pearls"
Seybold, Fredric
Wamsley, Hubert
"Group Scheduling"
Hoover.

I
suppose I have
already said too
much but those are
the people that
deserve the most
credit. They toiled
in anonymity to
create something
truly ahead of its
time.
