I should add that the Ecco development team had no way to anticipate the creation of Ecco Extension and its herculean super powers that change values and make auto-assignments like nobody's business!  So the particular scenario I described couldn't have been predicted when the Ecco sync feature was created.  It's no fault of the Ecco Pro team!
