Lindsay ...
1) I am used to move my phonebook entries to the calendar to have
the appointment in both places. So my appointments will show up
sorted in the date column under the phonebook name.
2) Copying Pop-up
List Columns with Values using the Ecco Extension
- Select the items to be copied in file 1.
- Right click Extend Copy>With Folder Value
- Select the place to paste the items in file 2.
- Right click Extend Paste>With Folder Value
This will copy the items and its
assigned value(s) to file 2. If any of the assigned values are
in folders that did not exist before the paste command, a new
folder with the folder name from the first file will appear in a
child folder of the "New Columns" folder. Of course if the
folder is not already displayed in the notepad where the paste
is invoked, it will have to be added in order to see the
assigned values in a column on that notepad (as it normally
would). (Courtesy of r634718)

Thanks, Friedhelm -- that's very helpful. However ...
1. What do you mean by "if related to your phonebook
entries"? -- should that be calendar entries?
2. I've created a new Appointments notepad folder
(Scratch) as you suggested and it has the item text and
date (with embedded time data) columns. In my Calendar
view, I also have Resp and Status columns and I want to be
able to include them in the comparison. Both Resp and
Status are popup columns, but they appear differently in
the Folder Window. Resp has folder entries in that window
for each of its popup values, but Status (which appears
under New Columns) does not. I have inserted the Status
column (with its values) into the Scratch view. When I
insert the Resp column into the Scratch view, only the
column (without its values) appears. How do I insert the
Resp values into the Scratch view? Hope that's all clear!

1. To delete Calendar data in bulk just open the
Folder Window and double-click the "Apptmnts" folder.
Sort (persistent) the data column and the dates if
related to your phonebook entries will be sorted by
date.
2. To compare to two data files, two "Apptmnts"
folder, I would export the data to a CVS file and use
free comparison software like "ExamDiff".

In a thread 'Times displaying
incorrectly in Calendar' starting 29/6/15, I
described a problem with EccoEE where new
appointments could not be added. After many
helpful replies and several attempted fixes, I
found that all worked OK in vanilla Ecco, so I
switched to using that until -- yes-- I got
whacked with low memory error messages.
Looking again at EccoEE, the Folder Window says
that, for the Appointments folder, the Count is
16366 and the Max is 16330. For all other
Calendar folders, the Counts are lower, but the
Max is always around 16330. Have I hit a limit
in EccoEE? Is there any way of getting round
the limit?
If that's a real limit, presumably I need to
delete some old Calendar data. How do I do that
in bulk?
A related but different question -- I have 2
Ecco files with some common Calendar data for 6
years from 2002. I expect to delete all data
for those years in the current Ecco file, but
I'm not sure whether the data for those 6 years
are identical or not (one file may have been
updated and not the other). Is there any way in
Ecco to compare selected data from 2 Ecco files
to see whether the data are identical?
Thanks for any help.
