You may have received one or another version of an e-mail (various Subject
lines were used) appearing to be from me this morning between 9 AM and
noon Central Time. While it did come from my AOL account, I didn't send it!
Delete any e-mail from my AOL account between those hours, especially if it
looks like the one below.
Following is the e-mail that tricked me into supplying my AOL password to
a phishing website, which rapidly generated similar e-mails to most, if not
all, entries in my AOL address book. I have disabled the link associated
with the word "here," so as not to risk your getting hacked as I was.

If I'd read that e-mail from a computer instead of from my cell phone, I'd
have hovered my mouse over the "here" link to see its true destination
revealed; and I'd have recognized it for what it is, a phishing attempt, and
would have known to delete the e-mail instead of clicking on its link. My
cell phone, however, has no such option that I know of; and I was in a
meeting and wanted to see what my old buddy thought was so time sensitive. So I
did 2 things stupid:
1. I clicked on a link I should have investigated first.
2. On the page it took me to, I input my AOL account password where
it looked like I should.
So I have no one to blame but myself. I just don't want you to make the
same mistake! Sorry as I can be,
