I have been using ECCO Pro since 1993, and continue to find it an invaluable tool. So much so that it now contains data that is irreplaceable. I access ECCO just about every day, including yesterday. This morning when I attempted to access it I got this error message. "The Master Data File has been restored from a backup and is incompatible with this file."  For the last month or so when ECCO first opens it presents me with an error message, something about a problem with the master data file.  Dummy me, I've just clicked past it and continue to work in ECCO, because I didn't understand the message.
Everything I've done today to access the file or even just get into the ECCO user interface has failed.  Every time it just presents me with the same error message.  I've tried to open backup 1 and backup 2 of the same file.  No cigar.  I've tried to open backups from long ago.  Same result.
Thanks to the good suggestions and graces of Pastor Don Johnson, I attempted a fresh install on a different PC of the ECCO 32 bit.exe (incompatible as I suspected with WIN 10, 64 bit), and then of the ECCO Pro 64 bit WIN 10 version 4677.  Fortunately I still had the license key for this version provided in November 2016.  Bad news again though.  That license key no longer works.  My subscription ran out 4/6/17 and I did everything back then I knew to renew, but by then the Creative Service originator of that version had passed away.  Perhaps this is an expired license key issue, i.e., if you don't renew within 6 months of past date ECCO Version 4677 stops working.  I sure hope not.  I would gladly pay for a new license key if any one has a more current one.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or something similar?  Who knows how to get me out of this bad jam?  Is there a way some how to recover the data file, at least so that I can export data to CSV or similar file?  Would much appreciate your assistance.
Big thanks again to Pastor Don for getting me this far!
Peter
