There is NO 64 bit version of Ecco. Ecco is a 32 bit program. What you
are referring to as 4.6.7.7 is a 64bit installation program created by
or financed by Friedhelm that installs 32 bit ecco to Windows 10. For
this, Friedhelm charged a fee. I think that was ok, although some people
disagreed. However, as Peter says in the rest of his post, it is
possible to get ecco installed in a Win10 environment, but it does
require some gymnastics. I just migrated over from Win 7 64bit which
accepted the old ecco install just fine, as I recall.

In any case I am glad you got everything working, just wanted to clarify
the point about 64bit ecco. No Such Animal!!!
