I asked about a beta drop about a month ago on their Discord
server. The response was that they're not yet stable enough to
release a preview. If I've waited 20 years for a 64 bit EccoPro, I
figure I can easily wait a few more months. And even when they
release it I expect to be running EccoPro for a good while until
all they tie up all the loose ends that don't quite function.

with any name the developers choose if it does what I hope it will be able to do and becomes a viable successor to Ecco. I think your point regarding the fact that there is already a program with that name is a good one to bring to their attention though. Might not be a good idea to copy someone else's already existing
name.
