Libtiff has been configured with jpeg support, so I don't think this can be
the problem. Most likely, it is some bug in libtiff or libjpeg. I'll look into
this. In the meantime, you may use the -z option, which compresses with Zip/Deflate
and which seems to work correctly on some sample files I have tried.
