The following code...
BEGIN {print "test" > "con.txt"}
... prints to screen and not to a "con.txt" file as I would expect. This occurs
with any path that contains a base file name of "con". I'm guessing there's
some sort of redirect to the "console" happening here.
I've reproduced the problem on Windows XP and Vista, and with Gawk 3.1.2 (cygwin)
and 3.1.6 (SourceForge).
Can others reproduce this? Given I need the base file name to be "con", is there
a fix or workaround for this?
