With version 4.2, the behavior of sed has been changed. It now works by default
in textmode, and has an option for reading and writing in binary mode. The previous
textmode option was a GnuWin32 extension, whereas the present binary-mode option
is an option of the GNU package itself. The sed package page
(http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/sed.htm) has not been updated to reflect
this.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this change may have caused.
