Hi John,
I once made the gui WindowControl which shows you the current,
valid windows and all the properties.
To eliminate the invalid windows which cannot and shouldn't be
manipulated a filter is used. This filter excludes the windows
'Program manager' (official name for Desktop? or Explorer?),
'Start' button and very small windows. Some of them are used by
applications as a sort of start-window before the actual window
opens. An example is the Context editor.
If you experience more of those unwanted windows you should extend
the filter a bit.
I've uploaded WindowControl.zip in the files/gui section.
It contains the gui and a small rtf help (don't expect too much
from the help). Place them both in you Gui-folder, otherwise the
help won't work. Did not find the energy to change that.
It was made on XP but still seems to work fine on Vista and Win7.
