Yeah, it also depends on what kind of data you expect to process. In some cases a simple script might already do, e.g. if only numbers. Did you see the CSV specs at the links Fred (fredfjord) posted. There seems to also be different versions where one sees leading and trailing spaces as valid in unquoted fields and the other strips them off. Quite confusing!
