Hi Chris,
EM_LINEINDEX is already there as $$rich.index
I will add EM_EXGETSEL to get the start and end of the current selection.
If they are the same, its the char the caret is at.
Windows 8.1 is fine, as long as you install a start menu utility like
ClassicShell. I haven't seen the metro interface for ages (which is good).
It also loads faster than win7 and has some other improvements, although I
don't like the chunky non-transparent window borders - aero was more
elegant. All in all, after working through my starting tantrums, I'm
satisfied with it.
