40% seems high - OTOH, defrag s/w frequently requires (or works better
with) around 30% free, so it's not completely unreasonable. If you
assume the boot disk is also the home of %TEMP% and %TMP%, pagefiles,
etc, then maybe you can justify the free space. I tend to move all of
the above off the system drive.
