I think I will take your advice and wait for the Acer, it looks pretty good.

Great, that's just what we were all asking for, a bigger slower Visual
Studio.   But I have downloaded the VS 2010 beta, and at this moment
am on a knife edge, deciding whether to embrace the big/slow/verbose
silverlight lifestyle, i.e. the world of Abominations and Clever
Hacks, or to take a walk on the simple python/django side of life.
Since my day job is all MS, probably I should do the latter.
