Betreff: [OT] OS recovery after hard reboot

Hi All,
Does anyone here know how windows knows to run scandisk (or other utility) after a hard reboot? How does the OS know that it was not shut down properly? I know there is a certain "shut down proceedure" that is followed when the OS is being shut down normally, so what is different when it is manually rebooted? Thanks guys.

John
