Re: Ubuntu and .NET

Thanks for the feedback.

I installed monodevelop and then wrote a quick and simple hello world console
app. It runs in the mondodevelop ide fine. When I go to the exe and open it I
get an error.

I then wrote the same console app with VS 2008, compiled it with gmcs on the
ubuntu box, compiled, ran the exe, same error as above:

"[/home/test/Desktop/UbuntuTest/UbuntuTest/Program.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
note: /home/test/Desktop/UbuntuTest/UbuntuTest/Program.exe may be a plain
executable, not an archive
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of
/home/test/Desktop/UbuntuTest/UbuntuTest/Program.exe or
/home/test/Desktop/UbuntuTest/UbuntuTest/Program.exe.zip, and cannot
find /home/test/Desktop/UbuntuTest/UbuntuTest/Program.exe.ZIP, period.
"

Google is turning up a buch of zip file links on this error. Any feedback on
this error?

If I open up a Terminal and drag the .exe into the Terminal window, it runs fine.
