For each camera you want to connect to, do you have to specify a port number which is forwarded to a corresponding camera? Why not, this is probably the easiest setup. Both the ActionTec ( Verizon ) and Linksys prompt for the IP address of the system to be exposed to the internet. That IP has to be within the router's world: 192.168.1 xxx . What I don't follow is does that exposed system now receive all the traffic that normally goes to the router? If the IP address of the router is 50.25.45.23, will port 80 traffic to that IP address now be directed to port 80 on the single PC in the DMZ? anyway, the things I would like to do are the following: Have a bunch of IP cameras connect to a router that is separate from the router that all the PCs and Servers are connected to. On the router with the IP cameras is a PC that is collecting video feeds from the cameras, listening for motion detection signals. How do I config things so the individual cameras can be connected to from the web? I understand port forwarding, but isn't that only for 1 camera? Verizon is sending traffic for the 5 static IPs down the pipe to my router. Shouldn't the router have a config feature where each IP is routed to a system on the internal network, just like ports are forwarded to systems on the network? I can link a domain name with the IP address of a router. To host a web site at that domain name, forward port 80 traffic to the actual web server on the internal network. What do you do when you have a 2nd domain name that you want to host? Can the 2nd domain be linked to the same IP address, but with a different port number? I thought the purpose of the multiple static IPs sold by the ISP was to address this requirement. In the scenario of two routers, one with a network of IP cameras, the other a network of PCs and Servers, how do you connect the two networks together?
