I have a ~6 mo old Dell XPS 1645... -- 16" LED display -- Core i7-720 -- ATI Radeon HD 4670 -- 128GB SSD drive The performance is fantastic, both CPU and GPU, and the SSD drive is amazing. But I really don't care for the overall physical design of the laptop... the keyboard is terrible, the touchpad is finicky and overly sensitive. The curved battery/grip thing makes it awkward to fit into my backback. Also, it has some weird BIOS bug (?) where my USB memory stick will just stop working for a while, until I cold reboot. They release a new BIOS update every few weeks (they're up to A12 already!) and each time it gets a little better... they must have some weird race condition they're fighting. I just got A12 yesterday, so far so good, fingers crossed they finally fixed it. But wtf, it's not like USB memory sticks are new technology... how did this regress?? On the bright side, it only takes like 10 seconds to reboot this thing. :-) On Fri, Nov 5, 2010 at 4:38 PM, Brad Wilson <[email protected]> wrote: > > > The M11x, which I have, is refreshed.
