The S3 team has recently rolled out support for server-side encryption. http://aws.amazon.com/s3/faqs/#How_secure_is_my_data http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2011/10/04/amazon-s3-announces-server-side-encryption-support/ There is also the VPC (Virtual Private Cloud)... http://aws.amazon.com/vpc/ But you may already know all about that... They also recently launched "GovCloud" basically a specialized, physically isolated VPC. http://aws.amazon.com/govcloud-us/ There may be some documents there, that may be of interest to you.
