circuit design software suggestions

Hi guys,

   I'm looking for a circuit design software package, something that will
allow me to design my own schematic diagrams for an electronics project I'm
working on. Any suggestions? I have been looking into SmartDraw but I've
seen some bad reviews of it and I didn't want to shell out the cash if it
isn't worth it. Any suggestions for a cheap or even free program like that?
