This article makes the case for Windows 8 pretty well I think. http://www.zdnet.com/with-windows-8-just-what-does-no-compromises-mean-7000003650/ But what kind of apps to start writing? Whenever I look at other people's top 10 app lists, I'd rather slit my wrists than spend my non-working days using all but 3 or 4, and those 3 or 4, everyone already has. And usually work just fine over the web. I suspect that the whole concept of "personal apps" is flawed. They are just a novelty, and may already already be going obsolete. Mike
