I actually built one, it was a kit with a (then very upmarket!) phase locked fm receiver. The buttons were individually tuneable - a very clever arrangement with a pot on each button that was altered by twisting the button, but was then locked into place when that preset was pushed in - and of course that would deselect the other 5 buttons. 45 years ago . . .
