Thanks.  I had a look at the code and found a possible explanation for endif behavior. 

 But the script failures on alternate tries still puzzle me.
 

 Did quit all get executed at any time in your testing?  It need not have been in the scripts that failed.  If it was, possibly the "quit all in progress" in PPro was not cleared properly leading to failure in next script that was used.
