Are you comfortable with looking at the registry using regedit?  If so, look at but do not change this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\

 

 What is the value of the subkey userinit.   Look for a pprotray.exe.  In particular, does it look something like this:
 Userinit=C:\WINNT\system32 \userinit.exe,C:\Progra~1\PowerPro\pprotray.exe,
