I find that KDE, Gnome, and especially XFCE can satisfy my custo needs
while I am learning. That was always a hard thing for me, no tinkering.
But like I said, I always had to come back to Windows for DVD authoring
and Games. I may just do what Holly has done, cuz I hate dual booting as
well.

I am going to snip it right here and change the subject. This reminded
me of a conversation Holly & I had a long time ago. Granted this is not
what Holly was just speaking about, but it just popped in my head.
Everyone (myself included) always say how Windows "just works". I
recently had the rare opportunity to install a OEM XP Pro disc onto a
computer WITHOUT AND INTERNET CONNECTION. I have always build my PC's
and I was always smart enough to keep all my driver disks. My
brother-in-law go a had nothing other than the OEM disc given to him. I
don't know who gave him the PC, but it was given and not purchased. 

Anyways, you guys should try that once. Using only the OS installation
disc try setting up a computer. I would go as far as saying ANY Linux
distro will beat the pants off any Windows installation on any x86
(probably x64 too) PC. 

Talk about "just working".

Yeah, and you can beat a nail through a board with an christmas ham, but
it ain't going to be a pretty thing to watch. ;)

That is something that I find I appreciate more and more. I like to
change things up (that's why we use litestep right?) and I like that I
can change DE's and still use all my apps. I like GNOME and XFCE better
than KDE, but nothing beats Amarok for music on any platform.
