haha... no, openSUSE has no Wine wizard. In fact, Wine wasn't even 
installed by default. But UT2004 runs natively under linux (there's even 
an install script on the dvd) so Wine wasn't involved there. As for JA, 
all I had to do was run the installer with wine, install the game to 
that fake windows installation and start it. Worked like a charm. I've 
tried a couple of other games though but that's all I've managed to get 
running so far. I'm gonna try WoW next as it is reported to work well 
under Wine.

AFAIK wine uses no windows drivers -- I don't know if it even *can* use 
windows drivers. I have an nvidia card which uses the native (and 
obvioulsy very good) linux drivers. I've heard ATI users might have 
problems with games under Wine though, as ATI's linux support is kind of 
lacking (not surprisingly as even ATI's /windows/ support is kind of 
lacking :P)

I have my hands full already, tweaking little things that annoy me and 
finding apps that suit my needs. But once I get everything set up like I 
want it I might turn my attention to the GUI stuff. Right now it feels 
like KDE is more than enough. One thing that keeps bothering me is that 
fonts and font rendering in linux generally seems quite bad. I even had 
to install some windows fonts just to make my eyes stop hurting. I'm on 
an LCD now and I must say that ClearType is much superior to the linux 
font smoothing -- IMHO.

I assumed so myself, but when you simply copy the profile folder from 
the windows installation to the linux installation you get a lot of 
error messages and the app refuses to work. Same thing happens with FF. 
Clearly there must be only a few files that should be moved and not all 
of them. I have yet to find out exactly which ones though. Makes you 
wonder why Thunderbird has no option to import a profile from another 
Thunderbird installation :)
