OK, I think I understand what is happening now. I use thunderbird to view my google email via POP. This is the problem is that google, by default, does archive the emails from me to the list. This is not configurable. Why I do not know. Anyhow, thunderbird can only DL the messages in the inbox. So since google archives it when it comes in it automagically dissappears. This is stupid. Anyone know of a way to get jmessages I send to litestep list to not be archived by google?
