This is true, but I think it also has to do with less typing. Personally
I like to be somewhat verbose except where abbreviations are very clear,
but that's just me...

One thing, though, is that capital letters are in fact somewhat annoying
for directory names. It's a lot easier for me to pound out a stream of
lower-case letters than to have to throw in the occasional capital
letter. If you're navigating around constantly and have to keep hitting
the shift-key, it slows you down, and plus you have to remember where it
is. (It is useful, IMO, if you delimit words with case. But I don't like
having capital letters as the first letter for my directories.)
