I use Litestep at work and have for quite a while. Even if you are not
admin, you can manually edit your portion of the registry to set your
shell as litestep. You can run it from a USB drive too if you want. It
may be a little slow there and timing issues can happen since it takes
longer to write to USB sticks than a HD.

The only real problem I have is explorer.exe respawning if you
accidently open a folder. Set the folder opening to be a separate
process, but I would try a 3rd party file manager as well for your
$FileManager$.

If you need tips on covert usage of Litestep, just ask, I may have had
the same situation before.
