As some of you might remember, there was a large amount of talk
semi-recently regarding bringing litestep.info back online. A lot of
talk, not much action, both on here and on West's board (which seems to
be down :-( )
The site's intent was to be an "informative", user-friendly place for
new and prospective users.
Anyhow, I thought it prudent to ask YOU, the litestep users, what sort
of ideas could be seen as "informative" and thus, something to be
considered as content for the site.
As I recall, things "we" DON'T want:
* Forums -- We have enough of these. I don't really think having
forums is necessary.
* Wiki -- Dont think another one of this is needed either, as we
already have one: http://wiki.litestep.com.ar/Index (Note:
Although, I like the idea of a wiki.litestep.info mirror/redirect
thing)
* Themes -- We have SEVERAL sites that cover this as well. Also,
doesn't fit into the scope of the site either.
Things we "do" like/want:
* Module Documentation: This is a *big* undertaking however, and not
something that would be available at launch.
* Articles/Tutorials:
o Theme Reviews: This was discussed on the forums, I think it
would be a nice idea to do a weekly review of a theme, with
a rating system, and several categories to rate.
o Theme Tutorials: Basic tutorials on how to do BASIC
themeing, nothing advanced
o General Tutorials
* FAQ: Basic questions only. A more advanced FAQ can be found at
ls-universe. Suggestions for questions to ask/answer would be
appreciated. Examples:
o What is LiteStep? (Remember, new people, so they wont really
know)
o How does it work? (Simple answer)
o ????
* RSS Feeds to other sites? I dont see why not.
* An image gallery? Not exactly "info" but this *would* help show
litestep off.
I've been working rather fervently on this lately, and while I dont have
alot of content, I do have a design in the works:
http://lsinfo.the-golem.com/ and
http://the-golem.com/projects/lsinfo_v3/index.html show the project in
various stages. I know the design isnt anything overly special, or
innovative, but I am kinda proud of it.
Your feedback is much appreciated.
