It can in theory, but since the control has no windows, the message it receives through IOleInPlaceObjectWindowless::OnWindowMessage.

The container has a responability to call this method.

The Ole Control 96 doesn't say what messages the container should dispatch.

If you want know it in detail, download OLE Control 96 (OC96).

Can windowless Richedit controler receive WM_CHAR message? or a more general question, can windowless control receive all messages as their window enable time?
