Hi Yarp, I admit that my UI coding is not up to much - I haven't learned about owner draw or custom draw yet, and while it may be the best solution to my problem, I'm really pressed for time. This project must be ready for presentation by Monday morning, so I'd prefer to stick with the simplest method that works if I can, so if CButton with a PBUTTON_IMAGELIST will give me the pushlike behaviour without having to add custom coding, I'd like to go that route - at least for now! I had a quick go with PBUTTON_IMAGELIST last night, but I couldn't get it working. I'll give it another go later today. Thanks very much for the links though, I'll have a read at them. Here's a link to a screenshot of the toolbar I'm creating: http://yfrog.com/bctoolbarkp I've created a test harness project for the toolbar, and I've uploaded it to RapidShare - if anyone wants to have a look at the code and see if they can get it going, here's the VS2008 project link: http://rapidshare.com/files/410153950/CustomToolbar.rar MD5: 07E9F3D24EACA4D72DE478399DDC564D It can only be downloaded 10 times - if anyone has trouble downloading it, please email me and I'll send it to them! thanks for the input! --- In [email protected], "yarp" <lac@...> wrote: > > FYI: Maybe it wouldn't fit with your project but instead of Owner Draw you may also Custom Draw a Button (XP and above): > > http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb761847(VS.85).aspx > > and > > http://www.codeproject.com/KB/buttons/nativewin32xpthemes.aspx > (read the "This is the wrong way to do it" comment) > > --- In [email protected], "addicted2freefall" <addicted2freefall@> wrote: > > > > thanks for your response jim. So do you think I should avoid using the WTL's CBitmapButton and just go with CButton in order to avoid CBitmapButton's ownerdraw behaviour? > > > > > ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
