How about, in CMainFrame::OnCreate...

HMENU hMenu = GetMenu();
SetMenu(NULL);
DestroyMenu(hMenu);

And remove the m_CmdBar from CMainFrame, remove the code in OnCreate that creates the command bar, attaches it to the window menu, and loads images.
