AnimateWindow and aero

I am trying to improve bjarke's autohide control
http://www.viksoe.dk/code/autohide.htm

he is using AnimateWindow to show and hide the popup autohide window. This works unless aero is enabled (e.g. windows 7). In this case, the non-client area is shown immediately without sliding and only the client is animated, leading to a sorry visual affair!

this looks like a problem with AnimateWindow. I couldn't find any solution, and I wonder if anyone here knows of a fix?
