Yeah probabbly something wrong with your lightdm config or Xsession .
Considering everything in Xsession is considered part of the session so
whenever something crashes the session crashes, I would guess it is a
problem of 1 of the scripts it sources or the script itself. Lightdm keeps
session logs in /var/log/lightdm/x-*.log so you should get some info on
what goes wrong.
