I tend to use command line in favour of e.g. GUI file mangers.

Bashisms are very convenient for fast typing in the command line, but
bash is a lame duck and, not portable and almost not readable at all.

When I write scripts as files, I try to avoid using Bash as shell as
much as possible. It's a nice login shell for Linux users who are used
to it, but it's actually a disaster in terms of readability and
portability.

As far as your case is concerned, it doesn't matter which shell you use,
as you are entering a level that generally tends to be fishy.
