Re: How to change resolution of the Monitor

Try the xrandr extension. it works better for me than XF86VidMode.
Or check out http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software_2fxfullscreen
if you want to work with XF86VidMode, but i never test it. Perhaps it's 
useful for you.
