So you want to go the other way from rdesktop http://www.rdesktop.org/ 
- your user will sit in front of a Windows box and view applications
running on the linux system ?

Why not use VNC http://hwww.realvnc.com/ ?  
The windows client is very small (under 300Kb), and my recollection is
that between windows machines it is at least as fast as (and probably
significantly faster than) RDP, so why use RDP between windows and
Unix ?
