disable probing I/O devices

Hello all ,
For a project I'm working on,  I need to turn off probing for input
devices
in Xfbdev (because it interferes with other software that uses serial
port, I/O devices such as IrDA/modems). After looking to maillist
archives, I found no
standard way to do this. Have I overlooked something ? Would community
object if I implement this feature (say, command-line switch
"--noprobe") ?
