Hi,

I just installed RedHat Linux on a Dell system with an intel 82845G/GL
video card. XFree86 2.0 doesn't seem to support this card. So I
downloaded RPM from the rawhide distribution with the name
XFree86-4.2.99.2-0.20021122.2

This seems to support the 845 chipset through an i830 driver (somehow
embedded in the i810 driver). But when I start up X, it only shows a
blank screen, than crashes. The end of the server log is:

Error in I830WaitLpRing(), now is 13819, start is 11818

Fatal server error:
lockup

I could send the whole log, but it's rather long. Anyway, what could be
the problem? Is there support for this card under Linux?

Thanks,

Akos
