Hallo everybody,

i have got the problem that i have got to use my X (4.2.1) with an ASUS
V8420 graphics adapter (Geforce 4 TI 4200), but i cannot use the drivers
from Nvidia. My problem is that i use two screen sections for two
monitors. I have tried the twinview option of this driver but i won't
use it. So i saw in Version 4.2.99 of xfree the nv-driver accepts the
geforce 4 ti 4200. So i got the source code, compiled the driver an
copied it to my X driver directory. But when i now try to start X, i got
the folling error:

(II) Module freetype: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
         compiled for 4.2.99.2, module version = 2.0.1
         Module class: XFree86 Font Renderer
ABI class: XFree86 Font Renderer, version 0.3
(II) Loading font FreeType
(II) LoadModule: "nv"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nv_drv.o
(II) Module nv: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
         compiled for 4.2.0, module version = 1.0.1
         Module class: XFree86 Video Driver
ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.6
(EE) module ABI minor version (6) is newer than the server's version (5)
(II) UnloadModule: "nv"
(II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nv_drv.o
(EE) Failed to load module "nv" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(II) LoadModule: "mouse"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o
(II) Module mouse: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
         compiled for 4.2.1, module version = 1.0.0
         Module class: XFree86 XInput Driver
ABI class: XFree86 XInput driver, version 0.3
(EE) No drivers available.

So my question is: How can i change the ABI class Minor number in my
source code to version 0.5 (i think when this number is correct, the
driver will work, right or false???)).

Please help me! I need this driver for work and an upgrade to 4.2.99 is
the last chance because i'am using debian and i would like to have a
stable X!

Much thanks
