Radeon 8500 driver. Open Source?

Is support for the ATI Radeon 8500 coming in Open Source? I just installed the RPM for the ATI Radeon 8500 LE using the rpm from ATI on Redhat 8.0. fglrx-glc22-4.2.0-2.5.1.i586.rpm I also found install notes for another rpm package, it looks as if the support can be compiled from source, but I am just not sure. http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/linux/linuxradeon8500x420143fileinfo.txt brian -- Brian Lavender http://www.brie.com/brian/
