This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0006_01C2B3F1.62531EE0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I have recently installed Redhat 8.0 which comes with XFree86 4.2.0. The X server seems to start up without any problem, but once I am in X, = the screen (keyboard and mouse) locks up and freezes at random times and = I am forced to cycle the power on the machine. This usually happens = within the first 30 minutes to 1 hour of starting up and using X. There = seems to be no pattern .... I could be opening a new window, or typing = something into a window, or at times even when I am waiting for a page = to download. Often when it freezes, there is some streaking across the = screen. I have an S3 VIRGE GX2 card with 4MB RAM, which as far as I can tell, is = supported. I have tried in vain for the past two weeks to track down this problem = trying various configuration options, so any help would be appreciated. = This system is a dual-boot machine, botting both Linux and Windows.
